Exxon’s October 2022 Outlook for Energy to 2050 is World-Ending

Exxon’s Energy Outlook By Source in 2050

The image above summarizes the world energy production that Exxon intends to make happen for the next 30 years. This is Exxon’s plan for world energy, by which the world will be collapsing from global heating, climate chaos and catastrophic ocean acidification (from CO2 emissions). Here are some notable Exxon Outlook claims:

Oil continues to play a leading role in the world’s energy mix, with growing demand driven by commercial transportation and feedstocks for the chemicals industry. Natural gas grows over the period, reaching almost 30% of all demand.

Coal use remains significant in parts of the developing world.

All energy sources remain necessary through 2050, even in net-zero scenarios. Oil and natural gas will account for 55% of the world’s energy mix in 2050.

The Exxon graphics show that, according to Exxon’s plan, the market share of fossil fuel energy in 2050 drops only 15% and Exxon has coal dropping only 50% by 2050.

Exxon’s outlook has a 15% increase in world energy production by 2050, with 55% of world energy from oil and gas. That means more fossil fuels – but we need to be reaching zero fossil fuels before 2050.

While the IPCC says (since the UN 2019 Madrid COP25 climate conference) that global emissions have to be put into decline immediately and rapidly, the Exxon plan keeps global emissions at today’s record level, or higher. That is a planet- and future-destroying outlook.

It gets even worse. Accounting for methane as well as CO2 emissions from the natural gas industry, by 2050 the planet would be in runaway super-heating (hothouse Earth) situation. No one will see it, because world agriculture and civilization will have collapsed by then — and most life will be dying.

Exxon has a phony plan for that. When Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson was questioned by the US government as President Trump’s candidate for Secretary of State, he was, of course, asked for his view on climate change. He answered that climate change is real and an engineering matter. He meant that climate disruption can be fixed by geoengineering the climate. That is impossible, but it is a future-fatal fossil fuel boondoggle that the industry has deceptively used for decades.

We must immediately reduce, and quickly eliminate our dependence on fossils. Exxon plans the very opposite. As shown below, Exxon’s energy Outlook is world ending, an unprecedented criminal evil creating a hellish future for all children around the world.
